Ourika Valley

One of the best excursion departing from marrakech
High atlas mountain with its glistening snowy peaks soaring above
the desert plains , is without doubt the roof of morocco reaching over 4167
in height , at the foot of these cragged peaks lie gentle valleys , filled with
flowers in the springtime , dotted with small villages and immense granaries , the
scenery is quite magnificent and visitors discover the unexpected marvels of
a mountain range considered as one of the most geological mysteries in the world .

the excursion starts early morning from marrakech and heading
to Ourika a splendid valley with its fortified inhabited by Berbers
population who have maintained intact their customs and traditions
through time , our first stop will be an extraordinary beautiful
panoramic view of the green fields of vegetables and cereals , forage
and of course olives which is a typical product of the valley ,
continuation to visit a real berber house to see how Berber
people live today , with a mint tea break , after that we continue
to setti-fatma raver on our way we stop at the cooperative of
argan oil where they hand-crack the argan nuts in between two
stones , a thecnique they've used for centuries .

then driving up by off-road through a mountain road where a small
walking trek is recommended for 30 minutes in order to admire
the beauty of the atlas nature with its different colours red ,
brown and green with numerous villages where houses have
the same colour as the hills because of stones and clay used
in buildings , and then heading to a small village located in
1800 meters height for lunch in a traditional berber house
close to the highest
mountain in north africa known as the roof of morocco reaching 4167
meters to test the real berber gastronomy , the menu includes a
berber tagine , couscous and fruits , then comeback to marrakech
via the asni valley and tahnnaout village .
